Travis joked that he was as shocked by Jason’s antics in Buffalo as everyone else was
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce admits he isn’t sure if his brother, Philadelphia Eagles centre Jason, will recreate his shirtless celebration in the stands at the Super Bowl this weekend.
A video of shirtless Jason springing out of his suite and into the crowd to celebrate Travis and the Chiefs’ victory over the Buffalo Bills went viral.
During the Opening Night of Super Bowl week, before the Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Travis joked that he was as shocked by Jason’s antics in Buffalo as everyone else was.
“That’s just who he is, he enjoys the game of football. The desire and the love that we’ve had for the game since we were kids just oozes out of us and we can’t help that,” the 34-year-old athlete said.
“And sure enough with an unbelievable fan base like Buffalo and going up there, it was a fun experience. But I don’t know if the Vegas crowd is going to make him want to take his shirt off though!”
While Travis is currently set to play the 49ers in the Super Bowl on Sunday, his brother Jason will once again be watching from the stands as he decides whether or not he will retire this offseason.
Travis was the focus Super Bowl media day amid his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift.
The National Football League (NFL) commissioner Roger Goodell praised Travis’s relationship, causing dismay among football fans.
“Having the Taylor Swift effect is also a positive. Both Travis and Taylor are wonderful young people, they seem very happy,” he said.
While the Kelce-Swift romance has captivated many NFL fans, boosting engagement and merchandise sales, high-profile figures like NFL Hall of Famer Tony Dungy have claimed Swift makes fans “disenchanted” about games.
