India vs England underway at Providence

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final between India and England at Providence Stadium has encountered a rain delay.

The match, which started with England choosing to field first after winning the toss, saw India progressing steadily to 65/2 after 8 overs.

Rohit Sharma led the charge with a brisk 37 off 26 balls, supported by Suryakumar Yadav’s quickfire 13 off 7 balls. However, rain interrupted play, forcing the players off the field.

India, with a current run rate of 8.12, was building momentum before the weather intervened.

Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid from the English bowling attack kept things tight but were yet to make a breakthrough.

As per the latest update, the rain has intensified, and the ground staff are preparing to cover the pitch and outfield.

Both teams will be eager to resume play as soon as conditions permit, with India looking to build a challenging total and England aiming to restrict them.
